Since 1998, The Freies Senderkombinat (FSK) is Hamburg's independent Free Radio station. It is operated purely on a volunteer basis, without any paid positions.

Today, the FSK transmits from inside the Gängeviertel. The Gängeviertel is a building complex that was occupied by artists in 2009. These days, it is operated by a co-op and provides a home and meeting space for many leftist and self-organised projects.

This tour will provide you with a insight into the operation of a Free Radio. You will learn how 24/7 transmission operations can be implemented without any permanent staff and with minimal resources. You will visit one of Hamburg's most characteristic leftist cultural centres.
