The motor ship Stubnitz was built as a refrigerator and transport ship in Stralsund, Germany, in 1964. After the reunification of East and West Germany, the MS Stubnitz was transformed into a mobile, participatory and international art and culture ship in 1992. Since then, it has been active as a floating cultural venue in over 20 European ports. Since 2003, it has been under preservation order. Today, it is one of the oldest technically authentic maritime vessels of that size that is still seaworthy. Concerts, parties, readings, performances and corporate events regularly take place on board. On this tour, crew members will guide you through the otherwise locked parts of the 80 metres (262.47 ft) long ship. You can visit several rooms, for instance the engine room, radio room, "server room", various chambers (in almost their original condition), the cargo holds, the bridge as well as the event rooms and the former teleshop studio.
